PPTQ Tourney Report

Went 3-1-1 to make Top 8 lost in the 1st round of top 8.

I took UW Control despite missing {Soulfire Grandmaster} in the sideboard. Also I didn't run Ojutais or Narsets (didn't have them )

Round 1: vs Esper Control
Control mirror ... We tied lol I wish I had my Soulfires here bc they add a clock we both won a game and drew in time

Round 2: vs Mono Red Aggro
Nice guy but he was a noob and I had no trouble crushing him in 2

Round 3: vs GW Devotion
{Mastery of the Unseen} is hard to play against 2 is even harder also couldn't find an end hostilities either game I lost in 2

Round 4: vs Sultai Whip
Easy matchup for me as it's pretty slow and if I counter their whip I basically win on the spot. Won in 2

Round 5: my win and in vs. UB Control
Game 1: despite him being 2-2 he didn't want to concede to me (.rearexit. lol) I won game 1
Game 2: he won with 3 mins left
Game 3 he finally was nice enough to concede to me so I won in 3 (but really it was a draw)

Top 8: vs Temur aggro/Midrange
Just too fast Savage was a savage and new Sarkhan is UNREAL!! Lol he crushed me in 2

Overall fun day though I got $25 credit for my $20 entry fee lol so I made $5 credit!! lol used the credit to buy a Tasigur and Ojutai

This was the case no prizes for 9th-16th and he wasn't there with a friend .. Just a douche lol I understand wanting to play but in this case there was 0 reason. He was out no matter what and I was a lock with a win. Oh well

I mean a lot of people care about their record like, I'd rather go 3-2 than 2-3. Now if it was about to draw and my opponent was a lock for top 8 and I wasn't, even with a draw, I'd concede in a heart beat.

I wouldn't concede either, you haven't earned it till you are in it. And planeswalker points are a thing I guess. But either way your way of thinking could make you the bad guy. If you had Drew and someone else made top 8 they could have beaten the deck you lost to

I understand that 2-1-1 isn't an "earned" record per say but it's a record that would guarantee me top 8 and sadly his record was not good enough to make it. So by playing he was attempting to dream crush me and that's rather rude. That's like saying I have no shot but screw you, you won't either!
