Dragon land is awful

Monastery siege is beautiful

Glad I don't play jeskai anymore as that stuff is expensive and hyped right now

So we have a better {mist hollow griffin} . I wonder how Maro let that happen
It isn't really because it doesn't combo off with {Food Chain}

Sure it does, food chain says any colour, so you choose green or black

So it seems like each clan is getting a legendary creature and the allied colors are getting dragons. You know what would be cool? If wizards made the pre-release so you could choose Khans or Dragons. Like, if you went Temur and Khans, you'd get Yasova Dragonclaw, or if you picked Rakdos and Dragons, you'd get Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury.
The prerelease boxes are spoiled. They aren't doing Khans vs, Dragons because we all know who wins: Dragons of Tarkir
Well shoot dang. I don't really keep up with spoilers outside of mythicspoiler.
I thought it would be cool :)
It would just not what we are getting.

On another note: how do you know when a land is bad? When the deck it was obviously made for doesn't want it:

At least the art is cool.

MuggyWuggy

Falls under sorting category of: art and name do better justice than card itself

I see that cruicible as a $1 rare, but wit a few big foil price... it is another colorless land for colorless edh aND they love that .poo.
It does not do anything special for "colorless EDH"

It's another land though...    can't they benefit from another land?

My point it that it does nothing more than a basic land of you at not casting dragons

I think Glows's point is that Colorless EDH decks can't run basics.

Ok that makes sense.  I thought there was some advantage I was missing or something

MuggyWuggy

That's why you just go as {Azusa, Lost but Seeking} and ramp to Ulamog

MuggyWuggy

So....run a land for hellkite only....

Just run a color and simplify your life

MuggyWuggy

Not being snide, were all just confirming this card is awful. I understand you're saying colorless EDH has another land, but its just a bad card and that's that.

MuggyWuggy

Yeah maybe if it was

Tap for colorless
Tap; add a counter on crucible
Tap: add mana of any color equal to counters on crucible. This may only be spent on dragon .poo..

Then it would be worth the rare slot. Right now it's simply a card that should be uncommon or sent back to R&D

Remillo

It's a Storage Land for Dragon Tribal.  Everyone always complains about 'wasted slots', when most cards at rare or mythic are garbage for constructed, anyways.  Ugin's Crucible is pretty darn sweet, especially from the point of view of a guy that loves big, stompy Dragons.  The most awkward part of the card is, unlike the TSP storage lands, this one has to Tap to remove counters, where the old ones required just a mana input, allowing some silly filtering shenanigans.
