Online Company Legit?

I found a site that sells booster packs for 2.99:

www.thegatheringground.com

I was hopeful, so I looked into it. Apparently it is a shady company with horrible service that sells things that are out of stock. ...In 2008. So my question is, is there anyone who has recently dealt with them? If they are legit, I don't want to miss some good prices. But even more than wanting to get good prices, I don't want to be yet another victim of a rotten company.

Thank you for your replies.

CoolStuffInc was selling some packs for $2.50 last time I checked.

I don't know how true this is might just be an urban legend. I herd some places that sell packs for cheap weigh them to keep all the foils. Again no idea if it's true or not just something I herd about buying cheap packs online.

Would they weigh different?  I thought foils just took the place of a common slot?

Yes if you weigh them foil is slightly heavier I know a guy who is obsessed with foil and he caries a electric scale and weigh the pack be fore he buys it to get a foil. Crazy right.

I guess on a high sensetive scale you might be able to tell the difference (granting there is one)

Nope foils take place of a land or tip card. And have a chance of being a mythic. At worse it worth more then a common. If you stack 60 foils vs 60 non foils you can see the difference in size of the stack. As far as weight I think it would be skittle heavier because you can peel the coating off to make your own proxies

Again I just herd of people doing this. I have no fact. It's kind one of those thing that a friend of a friend told me but no one knows who started this.

There is something called box mapping where you can pull out specific booster packs from a box, and those boosters have the most expensive cards in them. tl;dr: Don't buy loose booster packs from any set before Scars - chances are the box has been mapped for all the good rares and the rest are junk.

Well for one that nobody posting so far has any facts about the original question or couldn't give a dookie about it

If you don't trust a company, don't buy from them. Especially if they have a history of being shady. If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

What about the extra weight of foils?  That interests me.

Hmm. Well I'd believe that foils weigh a tid nibbley bit more than regular cards. But I'm doubting the weight difference could be used to effectively and accurately grab packs with foils. I'd stamp it plausible
