I also think that Standard format is what causes the buzzing.  We Vintage players players are crotchety old folks with insanely high standards.  ;)

Agreed, that is why this set is kinda like meh to me.  I do like the black cards like {demonic taskmaster}, {demonlord of ashmouth}, {gloom surgeon}, {dark impostor}, and {treacherous pit-dweller}......I even like {homicidal seclusion} just wish it didn't cost 5 CMC.

Less imPact as the game goes, to an extent. Strictly speaking of standard of course.

A 4/3 for 1 mana in any circumstance is great! Since when is it a bad thing?

I think the hype is appropriate. Not broken, a huge boost and a staple in a RDW for sure

If your opponent is at 6 life, and can kill you with the creatures on the table, they'll take the 4 damage and you'll wish you had a blocker.

If your opponent has nothing on the table and is looking to stabilize and is sitting at 25 life.  They'll take the damage.

If your opponent is at 2 life, but has a {Doom Blade} in hand, they'll let you have a 4/3.

A lot of ifs. You're playin RDW late you're doing it wrong. <t5-6 win very easily.

All of the points you said ate true. I think first hand the opponent has a really tough choice, thus the buzz.

T1 vexxing, take 4. T2 goblin arsonist, goblin grenade. 10 life left after 2 turns? Yeah that's not good.

You're out 3 cards and I didn't even do anything. I spent zero mana. That's not good, that's brilliant, thank you!

I still think it's a good card, don't get me wrong.  Just playing "devil's advocate"  ;)

You asked when a 4/3 for 1 is a bad thing, so I gave you some scenarios.  I many cases, this guy is a good opener, lousy finisher.  With every turn that passes, his value goes down.  Still, in a deck that plans to win T4-6, probably won't matter, but I can see players wishing they'd drawn a kill spell instead.

Tough choice? Unless I hold a {Doom Blade}, I take the damage, it's not a choice it's a no brainer. You're not getting to keep a 4/3 crit on T1 unless you're playing a Zombie.

Think about it, you're giving me Dismember for free. Really, thanks!

Really it would have been amazing if it coulda worked with Chandra's Phoenix, however she unfortunately only works when it's a red instant sorcery or pw

I have played all week with the new cards (proxy) and the thing I can say about them is ... Green are so much Op !

The fact that they can play a 6/6 (Titan in example) on turn 3 it's just horrible ... Then on turn 4 they can soul bound them with the card that give +4/4 to swing for a 10 trample

They can really have over 10 mana around turn 4-5 ( no joke )

I thougt red was going to shine ... But green is 2000% better
