There are rumors floating about that there may be a reprint of the onslaught fetch lands so modern players will have access to them. Now, they will never have both fetch lands and shocks in standard at the same time, so it won't happen until after RTR rotates out (at the earliest if at all) but here's my theory. We will eventually return to zendikar, no sooner than fall 2014. When we do, perhaps it will feature the onslaught fetch lands in place of the original zendikar fetch lands, which have likely been ravaged by the Eldrazi at this point.

I hear they are gonna be in modern mastery witch would not put them into standard.

Nope. Not modern legal.

?
No fetchlands are in Modern Masters because the Zendikar ones are past Alara block and the Onslaught ones were never Modern legal.

Tru but if they print all ten then they can be legal. Just saying what I'm hearing. They had the insight of rtr so they have me believing.

Also in that article is a picture of what im 99% certain will be {city of brass}.

So your saying there is no way they are gonna expand modern into the sets that are now out of standard.

IM not saying that. The article said that. The whole point of MM is to put more copies of cards that are already staples into circulation. Not to expand the format with cards that aren't already modern legal.

wait...I can't use recent cards in modern? Why? And why are they starting at eight edition? Isn't it supposed to be after 7th edition?

8th Edition was the first set to have the "modern" card frame. Again, this will be a REPRINT of what's already modern legal. Not a reprint of pre-modern cards to make them modern legal.

Maybe the search lands will be hidden treasures.  I'm just saying what I'm hearing it could and might be totally wrong. But I can see them including the onslaught search lands to balance the colors because I looked at the imtg modern section and the zendikar lands are not on the banned list there. Either way doesn't matter to me it's not a format I play. So you can take this with a grain of salt. Not trying to argue just saying a rumor I herd.

We know for a fact that there will only be cards from 8th Edition to Alara. Onslaught was before 8th, Zendikar was after Alara. Im not arguing. Just stating the facts straight from the horse's mouth. Regardless, I don't really care either haha. Modern's is too liberal with its banned list.

The Zendikar Fetches ARE Modern legal, but Modern Masters 1, will not feature them. Maybe in the future, but not now. As far as reprints of Onslaught Fetches, we'll just have to see what the future brings, I have seen no confirmation personally of them being reprinted.

To clarify, when I said "modern legal," I was referring to older sets that are not modern legal. Not modern's banned list.

Back to the OG topic. I would like to see something like "landcycling." Maybe in the ally colors. Something like "{T} add {R} to your mana pool. Landcycle 2 (Pay {2} and discard this card: search your library for a basic plains card and put it onto the battlefield tapped.)

Maybe storage lands?   {Calciform Pools}  {Dreadship Reef}  {Fungal Reaches}  {Molten Slagheap}  {Saltcrusted Steppe} etc
