"It has no pause button". I'm sorry, but I pretty much don't use the pause button while gaming offline..
Sounds like the kind of parent I'm trying to avoid becoming.
Then again, sometimes I can understand being worried about something and trying to talk about it gets harder as kids get older. For now I'm happy my son is geeking out as much as I am, and they encourage it at school.
I don't know your parents, but I hope they're not just claiming time just to be. (My mum-in-law has that tendency, so I won't say it doesn't happen).
However: could you try to get them to say what it is they worry about? That makes talking about it that much easier. (With them that is)

A few years ago I had a video game addiction. It manifested as an escape for me when I was in my depression. I had no friends, and after having tried sports, which I enjoyed but couldn't put up with the bullying, it was all I really had that I enjoyed doing. That, in of itself, isn't necessarily bad; but it manifested negatively to the point where I'd wake up when mom went to work at 6, get online, get off an hour or so before she came home, do all my schoolwork and chores and get back on whenever I could and play till bedtime.

I'm not like that now. I have other things I enjoy doing. Gaming is now a social thing that I do with friends more than anything else. But I really think this experience has warped my parents image of video games. My mom has said that she wished I'd never played and that she hates them and wishes I was doing anything else. Says the person watching Netflix for 3+ hours a day (games like League of Legends are proven to be much better for you than watching TV).

All that to explain that it is their bias. That's why they answer with such garbage as "How can you not see it?" Then don't show it to me and make up excuses like "cause there's no pause button". I guarantee you, if I had a job, excelled in my education and got everything I needed to get don't around the house, AND MORE, they'd still find something to complain about. I should know, I've done it. But I'm the kind that is easily defeated, if I work my ass off without recognition I quickly stop wasting my time.

I have come to believe that my parents will never be satisfied with me. They have very high expectations and I only put out average results.

Just finished watching Antman. That's one amazing movie.

I agree but I like guardians of the galaxy the best of the marvel movies.

Anyone here affected by the Cali attacks? I've not heard much about it, but picked up news coverage about an attack in Cali.. Just wondering, anyone out there I should worry about?

That attack was done in the name of Isis.
Yes, it was. I can't wait for the day all people can accept one another without the need of bombing in the name of their "faith"

Dota or LoL?

LoL.

DotA is overly complicated, has a massive learning curve, and feels laggy thanks to turn ratios.

League actually lets you use your abilities, is easier to learn and looks better IMO (athstetics, not graphics). I'll admit League is unbalanced, compared to DotA, but I just like everything else better.

Apathy Reactor

I used to be into DotA.
Now I'm not.
