Ok guys if I have played a guy before and familiar with what he is running I.E. artifacts can I dig in my sideboard and throw some {doom blade} in my deck or do I have to wait tell we play once? Thanks.

Rass

I'm pretty sure you can do anything to you deck before you start shuffling it

Thanks cant wait tell i play this guy again. He took me out with 2x {myr battlesphere} and a gang of tokens. Cant wait to {doomblade} him then swing for the kill.

I thought all the cards listed as being in your sideboard had to be placed back into your sideboard after every round?

Rass

I'm not a 100% sure but it's your deck and side board. I would think you can change you deck/sideboard at anytime your not playing. If something isn't flowing right in your deck wouldn't you be able to switch it out before your next game?  To me it makes sense but I am not a person who knows all the rules

Poof

You're not supposed to do that.  At least in a tournament it wouldn't be allowed.  If u guys are playing casual though I guess anything goes

Are you sure? It's your deck and you can change it at anytime. You decide you are gonna start out with a new sideboard

Poof

I'm sure that's why it's called a sideboard every first match has to start out with your mainboard you don't sideboard until
2nd and 3rd match then you should put back all mainboard cards before your next opponent

Poof

I know this guy at the lgs and if he knows what deck u run he'll be like let me test against your tempered have nothing but artifact hate let me Test against your burn have circle of protection red.  Really it's not even playtrsting this guys is just an ass.

BlackJester

I wish I could help here, but as I don't attend tourneys other than prereleases I'm not that familiar with those sort of rules.

Poof

Like I said if it's not a tourney it shouldn't matter but if you know what he's running and pre sideboard just for that it's kind of a dick move

Rass

How is that a dick move. You use any advantage except cheating. If I know someone well enough I shouldn't prepair for them specifically. They have the same option to change their deck.

BlackJester

How is that different than preparing for your meta?  That player is part of your meta, so you plan accordingly.

Poof

Because it's not your real deck and not the way the deck would have been if you played a total stranger that is one of the reasons sidebaording isn't allowed before the first match
