Gift of immortality shouldn't be a thing

{Gift of immortality} SHOULD TOTALLY be banned in commander. Consider the following:

- peices are easily searchable
-Throw it on {ashen rider} ,{archon of justice} or {angel of despair}, and use a sac outlet. Let's kill 1-2 things a turn
-if you try any thing I'll sac in response, which will be state based, meaning you have to hit me twice, assuming you still have lands.
- can hit lands, decreasing the odds any retaliation can happen or be even slightly effective, and can take one from each other player, making it so either those players must draw a land each turn or be down another land each turn.

It wouldn't be this big a deal if the people I see that play it would stop hitting lands. I enjoy combo personally, I'm Johnny for life. But I make sure my combos win effectively and quickly. The only thing that stalls harder than this is {winter orb}

It is OP. and it TOTALLY screws with the whole "two more mana" thing.... I totally agree!

I played against this last night and literally sat there for ten of MY turns doing nothing ( remember, once on EACH players turn this can be done), and when he started blowing up 6 of my lands a turn, I said screw this and went home. I wasn't mad because of the combo I was mad because it stalled. It took literally 90 minutes and 10 rounds around the board for him to tell us we lose. My combos win the turn i get a bonkers board state, not an hour later.

{Gift of Immortality} + {Consuming Vapors} + {Angel of Despair}
No -.- just...No!

Birdbrain

Not to mention its in an intro deck and cheap to get

LadyGrixis

I don't know why they printed {Gift of Immortality}, honestly. It seems broken in any type of play. And I despise it, lol.

And conveniently white is the only color that can best stop it. Green now can with that exile enchantment stuff, and destroying it. So I guess you have to run {W}{G} to stop it? Or counter it. Or bounce the creature. Or seriously weaken the creature and ignore it.or simply go for there life total or library...ok. I guess every color has a strategy for it. Still....

Birdbrain

You could also just {pacify} the creature it's on. Or use the skies strategy going over there creatures heads while locking there stuff down

Sorry. I meant use {pasificm}
That {Purify} would work right? Or even if it's destroyed it gets put back onto the creature?

it only mentions the creature, not it

Gorzo

It seems fine. It's good, sure, but there's so much enchantment removal that a balanced game of EDH should be able to handle it, no biggie.

I was going to say this exact thing.

Birdbrain

I think from now on with any card I'm going to think "how would I stop this card and/or strategy?"

Dudecore

It's worse then {Recurring Nightmare}...that's a negative right?
