Member of the month?

What do you guys think about doing a poll every month for Member of the Month? I thought it'd be nice to reward the members who are actively helping make this community a better place. The only thing is idk how to make a poll on my phone and I'm unsure of how to do the rewards as I won't be able to be the only one offering up the rewards, it would get too expensive lol.

I like it, spread some user appreciation! My only worry about a poll is that users with less votes might feel bad, when the entire purpose of it is to make users feel good.

Any other suggestion on it? Maybe a private vote done by mods? I've thought about this as well and I'm unsure as to how I'd work around it. I like and dislike the idea of the mods doing it...I like it bc I know that the voting would be done fairly and unbiased...I dislike it bc some of the mods NEED to be voted for by the members of the community so they know what they do is appreciated, and if its just mods doing it they wouldn't get to see our appreciation.

No, not as long as you check the person who PM'd you and made sure they had like at least 20 posts (to make sure its not a fake account)

This could be done rather easily.

Maybe a way to stop cheating or such is to:

You have to be able to +1 and -1 to be able to vote
                              Or
Have to have had an account a month prior to the end of the poll

I would actually appreciate a mods help on this. They can see the IP address of members and that alone will help rid the chances of multiple accounts, also mods will be more experienced at this kind of thing and I can only access this forum and app on my phone.

Any thoughts on how to do the rewards? Should we have multiple people chip in a card each month, obviously only willing people?

I like this! It'll give everyone an incentive to be even MORE respectful to one another. Eventually everyone can be member of the month in the same month because we're all so awesome. 😉
