Gotta keep in mind, Rules gets a lot of questions at a time.  The mods there may not want to take the extra time to go through each post again and PM/lock/whatever all of them.  I think Keyeto's doing just fine ;)

That's their job as moderators, if they half-ass it, things like this occur.
Sorry if you feel I'm half-assing it, mind explaining what you would do better? I ask this honestly, not sardonically.

And maybe some people find its half-assed to go around the rules section and restate the already given resolved answer. Karma is an opinion based action. You can't tell people their opinion is wrong.

Again, I apologize if it upset you, but I have to do what I can to make sure every rules question is correctly answered and dealt with. I don't always have time to pm everyone "Good job" or "hey, someone already answered this". This is why we have karma, it's quick, and generally gets the point across.

It's not your call what we as mods should or should not do. I haven't encountered a problem with the way keyeto is running the rules section.
This seems to be a problem honestly. All I'm saying is he could make a copy paste pm warning saying "please don't answer a question that was already answered in the ask section, thank you." Downvoting seems like a very harsh matter of resolving things

Then tell me, was is being half-assed about the Rules section? I'd like to think I'm doing a decent job, but if I'm not, tell me what I can do better.

All the mods are good people, if you've got suggestions we will listen. Redirecting or approving karma is a bit much. We're not immune to it, nor would we be if given the choice. We can give it and receive it.

That being said, this is strictly a voluntary position. Everyone is encouraged to do their best for the community and do the right thing, mod or not. Honestly, mods are basically regular users. All of us were picked for our contributions.

Maybe make a copy/ paste message saying "please don't answer a question that was already answered in the Ask section. Thank you" and add another moderator to the section if you need help.

I'm not attacking you or your ways, that's only my verbiage of describing something. I think just similarly how re-answering a question can confuse a play, downvoting can confuse a user.

I'm not saying he's doing bad, but not telling a user what he did wrong just seems like nothing is going to get resolved.

Keyeto isn't the only rules person. Mikefrompluto, Double-O-Scotch, Gorzo, myself (rarely) all frequent the forum. The "PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING" thread outlines some of what is expected for posting in that forum.

It doesn't explicitly state "do no repeat rules answers", but do request that you use the search function.

The whole point of karma was to have an anonymous way of expressing your like or dislike of a post. I came out on my own to tell you I did this. If we Pm'd people everytime they upset us, there'd be a lot more irritated people on this forum. In general, it's better to look at a post and say "oh, people don't like that" and move on. It isn't supposed to be life or death, or harsh, or crippling; whatever you want to call it. The point of my post was to admit what I did, apologize if it upset you, and move on. We don't need any arguments, agreed?

I agree, but I would have understood if you did PM me about that, but like I stated maybe just add "no reanswering an already answered post" in the "PLEASE READ" section. I do appreciate you listening though
