The down vote on the Shattering Pulse was from me. As the current primary Rules mod, I have to make sure that the rules section is nice and organized. One of the best ways to do this is keeping topics short, and precise. If people continue to answer questions that have already been resolved or answered, it could dilute the strength of the answers and potentially bring up more questions (through poor wording, different examples, unneeded scenarios, etc). Your explanation was fine, but the question had already been answered, and I've noticed these comments happening a lot. I absolutely hate giving negative karma, but its my way of saying "I appreciate your effort, but please, refrain from restating already answered questions."

I hope this didnt discourage you in any way, I love to see people helping out, just try and keep in mind: Keeping Rules question topics short and precise is the best way to go. I've seen question restating confuse new players,
and we don't want that. Feel free to answer questions, just try to be a bit quicker on the draw 😉
For the record, I hold nothing against you, and hope you enjoy the community of iMtG.

You could just message me... That doesn't really help its like telling a child he did something bad not what or how he could do better.

Keyeto while I appreciate your thought behind negative karma, I don't think that's how you should handle things like that. It could discourage people from helping with rulings and may turn them off from the forums if they keep getting negative karma.. maybe there's a better way to tell someone thanks but we've got this one covered? Like a pm or something?

I think before they get the negative karma, mods should see the post that your giving - karma for. If they can understand why they will allow it. If they dont, they will deny it. And i better not get - karma for this lol

That would be a huge time kill for them. I would rather keep them focused on more important things I. The imtg boards.

That would defeat the purpose of giving people the right to give or take karma freely. I don't understand everyone's mindset, so why should I (or anyone else) decide what people do and don't like? If unneeded karma is floating around, it's usually addressed and fixed.

All-Mana Mania

I know.. It was pretty stupid lol.

Exactly my thoughts, I was getting frustrated because I was getting negative feedback, I got nothing from the mods so how was I supposed to know? And to fortify your other reason, yes it was discouraging me not only from answering in the "Ask" section, but also from the app altogether. Because I felt like I wasn't being appreciated by the community.

Guess -1 karma for that

Gotta keep in mind, Rules gets a lot of questions at a time.  The mods there may not want to take the extra time to go through each post again and PM/lock/whatever all of them.  I think Keyeto's doing just fine ;)

All-Mana Mania

Umbra. I shall give you +1 just to be nice lol :)

That's their job as moderators, if they half-ass it, things like this occur.

It's not a job it's a time donation there is no pay involved.

Greg54js

I will personally donate time to go thru posts if it will alleviate pressure from the mods who don't have much time :)

It's not your call what we as mods should or should not do. I haven't encountered a problem with the way keyeto is running the rules section.

We don't do this as a job haha.  Keyeto's there to answer rules questions as a helpful figure to everyone here, not sort through every post and try to tidy them.  He's not half-assing it, he's just trying to keep it flowing and organized ;)

Greg54js

As I said, if keyeto would like I'll help him sort thru posts to find unrelated ones
