It really depends in the cut of steak. It doesn't matter how you cook it, a flank steak is never going to taste like a tenderloin.

But steak is overrated in my opinion. It's good, sure, but very minimalistic as far as flavor pallets go, using nothing but the flavor of the meat, salt, and pepper. I'm a big fan if stir-frying, myself, and will happily cut the same cuts of meat into 1" cubes, and toss them in an Asian mix of flavors. Garlic, ginger, soy sauce, spring onion, and whatnot. Same piece of beef, 10 times more flavor.

Try different meat too, for me there's not a steak out there that beats a venison filet mignon

Not a huge fan of venison personally, but definitely it's a good idea to try different things and sample what's out there. Some of the best foods I've ever tasted are not common/normal dishes.

For example, one of my favorite foods ever is a Hungarian dish. How often do you get exposed to Hungarian cuisine? Thankfully my grandmother's neighbor years and years ago was a Hungarian family, and they did a recipe trade - my Grandma's authentic Italian lasagna recipe for their authentic paprikash. Both of those recipes still rank in my top 10 easily, even after the countless foods and recipes culinary school has exposed me to.

And now I'm hungry. Damn.  Time for a late night snack.
