Some of the Mega Man games have terrible water levels where you get instakilled from hitting a spike.  Energy weapons, killer robots, sliding doors all take away health, but a spike instakills you.

Makes sense.

Example of a horrible water level: Zelda, Ocarina of Time.

The only thing that made that level so annoying was constantly equipping/unequipping those damn boots!  Clang, clang, clang, clang...

it was tedious, but not all that hard. Once you got passed the tediousness of the dungeon (and the boots) it realy wasn't that bad

Although what ideas for water levels would make them fun?

As a child, I always loved water parks and water slides. Perhaps incorporating that experience somehow? Is that even possible to capture?

I kind of liked that aspect of the puzzle. It was the tedious aspect of the boots that annoyed me most. Of course it's been years since I've played it. I kinda want to hook up the ol' 64 now...maybe this weekend.

Cal8301

The GameCube special edition added a change up to the layout of the level which made the water temple worse.

That's how my wife likes it.  Have you tried medium rare or rare?  Really brings out the flavor of the meat.
