What kinds of funny names for cards have you heard?
For me I've heard {Primeval Titan} called Prime Time and just yesterday {Porcelean Legionaire} was called toilet.
{Skithiryx, the blight dragon} is being called Skittles
{Prodigal Sorcerer} = Tim
{Forgotten Ancient} = Mr. Babycakes
{Raven Gulidmaster}= Ice Cream Man. {Myr Battlesphere}= Critter Ball
Goblin token - Fred
I always use catchphrases for the cards that I always like using. For example...
"I tap 5 myrs and {myr turbine} to search my deck for... Everyone's favorite {MYR BATTLESPHERE}!!!"
Or when I use my friend's vampire deck I play our good friend {Olivia Volderan}.

Frosty package is so true. I would use {frost Titan} for my avatar in DotP and I would play a lot of 2-headed giant. You spend a lot of time waiting for 4 to join sometimes. When someone would leave I would say to the others that I am sorry.....my avatar's loin cloth bulge musta scared em off.

Whenever one of my friends plays {unaryo bees} , any opponent can say "you're not a bee, you're a great big phoney!" and that person is allowed to poke the guy who played it until they end their turn. Hint: we usually wait to play the bees during our second main phase to avoid getting poked throughout our entire turn.
Why? I really don't get it. Is there a back story to that? Sounds amusing. :)
Friend thought it was "Unato" bees. So he said it really fast and said , "you not a bee". Forgot that part of the story. Whoops 😝 and the pokes are for the bee stings and our magic games usually end with bruises. Like when we play {riku of two reflections} , someone can yell "YOU STOLE MY KEYBLADE!". And then punch the person as hard as they can. Reference kingdom hearts.

Lol we have something like that. Someone taps at least 5 mana we all start Going "oh .poo., what now?, wtf are u pullin out of ur ass?" then just set our cards down and just lean back and flip the friend off
We do that to! But not with tithe. And then when someone is attacking we go "Maze" for {Maze of Ith} and sometimes we do this with basic land to see who is paying attention. There are only two of us who play with maze and only one does consistently.
That same person is notorious for having a mean Dimir deck with {Hedron Crabs} in it. For a while, wherever he played a land (in any color deck} he'd say "landfall" and people would automatically start milling 3. XD

HAHAHA! I do that too! Except, if some cast something I don't like, I'll just mutter "Countered." Even if I'm playing mono-red with no cards in hand. ;D But every once in a while, I really will counter it, so it's almost like the boy who cried wolf.
@Quackmaster5: I have a similar story. I don't normally play permission decks, but one time we were playing with a guy playing a graveyard based deck. He played something like {Mortivore}, so I tried to counter with a {Grip of Amnesia}. He thinks about it for a bit, then decides to exile his gy. I draw a card. "{Counterspell}". >:D He was pretty pissed!
Lol my best was. I was playing in a tournament back around 3rd or revised. Was the 3rd match. I slow played getting beat down for awhile waiting on my fireball. I got a stream of life do I used that for about 10 life he forked it. A few turns later I got my fireball and blasted him for over 30 points. He ripped up his cards in hand and stormed out.

After some playtesting, {Sorin, Lord of Innistrad} has become known as {Worthless} to me :P. I didn't like him in my build lol
I was running a zombie Commander deck at a tournament and when I played "Grimoire of the Dead" I called it "Zombie Cookbook", everyone seemed to enjoy it.
My friend plays blue above all else, he can run any deck like a pro and his tactical skill is nearly unparalleled. Because of his "control issues", as we have dubbed his play style, and his uncanny ability to know what you have to play and exactly how to deal with it in any situation his catch phrase became "made em waist it!" he would shout this whenever he could counter a key spell or make his oponent do something unnesicary thanks to his untapped blue mana bluff that could make any player second guess casting. soon, the entire magic shop was using this line and when you lost to a control deck you had been waisted. XD we no longer have counter spells here, nor control decks. We have nothing but waisted players. Lol!

when a couple friends of mine started the playing magic they thought that his fire breathing ability(one red for +1/+0)was one use per turn and was basically useless hence the name worthless .peach. face but later we found out that the ability actually stacks but the name stuck around
