So i played jund last night and it was a good time making some mistakes on the first time around with that deck.  I still did well and made top 8 in a group around 20+.

Match 1 I won the first game but lost pretty much to mana screw by only getting 2 lands on the board each game. 1-2

Match 2-5 I won all of those with 2-0 records.

Top 8 round I played the same guy as match 1 and went 1-2 again.  This time I made a bad play in game 3.  He was running twin and had keranos on the board.  Playing against keranos clock is a real thing!  I had tasigur and kitchen finks on the board and he just had snapcaster.  Like a bone head I tap 3 of my 4 mana to cast lily and force the edict so i can punch 7 damage through and race the keranos clock.  He takes damage and will be dead next turn.  End of my turn he casts exarch and taps out my 4th land.  Of course he has twin on his turn for the win.  I had abrupt decay in my hand if i only i did not cast lily :(

Had i not been facing that keranos, i woukd never have  tapped that much mana while holding abrupt decay vs twin.  Funny how other cards make you play different.  Good learning experience for sure

Well had a fun FNM ran amulet bloom because I feel as though summer bloom is gonna be banned Monday and I wanted to play it one last time :( overall there were 22 players in the round up.

Round 1 went 2-0

Pretty straightforward was playing a home brew green white warrior deck thing. Not sure what was going on. Lol
Game 1 beat him t3 titan
Game 2 hive mind combo t3

Round 2 1-2

Jund. God I hate jund. Lol was a tough game that I fell short unfortunately.

Game 1 got tore apart by hand disruption.
Game 2 he surgically extracted my Summoners pacts. Top decked a sigarda host of herons and took it for the win.
Game 3 Leyline opening hand, he maelstrom pulsed it then picked me apart.

Round 3 2-1

Merfolk. This was my deck I was letting a buddy run.

Game 1 I won pretty easily with a titan t3.
Game 2 drug out he attempted to spreading seas a land and I just blew it up with a ghost cavern. Had 4 plant tokens out but unfortunately he had a torpor orb and I wasn't able to get land as efficiently and he took the win.
Game 3 t3 titan with two amulets. 10/6 with doublestrike and trample and he had no creatures yet due to a well timed slaughter pact.

Round 4 2-0

Soul Sisters. Also another one of my decks I was letting a buddy use. He had gone undefeated up to this point unfortunately for this deck its pretty much hive minds best match up.

Game 1 hive mind combo t5 or 6. Good thing about soul sisters is it gives you time to set up.
Game 2 t3 Titan swinging double strike with two amulets down 20 damage with trample. He blocked and was at 1 life. Then he gained 7 and was at 8. Went for a double strike for 16 and he attempted a path to exile that I negated with pact of negation and took the win.

Round 5 drew out.

Top 8

Jund 2-1

Game 1 lost pretty straightforward due to disruption.
Game 2 was a mistake on his behalf. He had a ghost quarters and I was greedy and stopped a terminate with pact of negation when I already had used a Summoners pact. He scooped not realizing he could've blew up my simic growth chamber and won.
Game 3 t4 sigarda host of Herons. This game was scary he had a ghost quarter, picked apart my hand until I had land and 1 top deck summer bloom. So bloomed into Sigarda and she won the game single handedly.

Top 4 of top 8 basically drew out so we could start the pre-release of origins. I felt horrible for my buddy with jund who misplayed so I gave him my promo Path to Exile since I already traded for my playset of the new promos ;) lol

Tournament report, yet again. Went 3-0-1 splitting 2nd place, got $45 store credit.

Match 1: Eldrazi random jank?

This looks a lot like the NPH - INN standard wolf run ramp deck; here are some cards I saw that are shared between that deck and his deck:

Primeval titan
Kessig wolf run
Inkmoth nexus
Rootbound crag

Other stuff I saw:

Defender that taps for G for each defender you control
Joraga treespeaker
Sakura-tribe elder
Summoning trap
Emrakul, the aeons torn
Artisan of kozilek
Everflowing chalice
Quicksilver amulet

Game 1:

I kept 1 land, three disruption spells and prayed to god I wasn't playing against burn. Luckily, my dumb decision was somewhat rewarded, by him not being on burn. I was able to take all his action and strand an emrakul in his hand. I ended up hitting lands 2 3 and 4 consecutively turns 4-6 and managed to land Spectral procession, Intangible virtue, Honor of the pure and just beat down. He ended the game with 14 mana and emrakul in hand.

Game 2:

I mulled to 5 off no lands, had no disruption or anything and lost to a turn 4 emrakul, in all honesty it was really funny.

Game 3:

I kept, lands, disruption and removal and once again stranded an eldrazi (This time it was ulamog) in his hand and clocked him with some tokens.

2-1  1-0

Match 2: Abzan

Game 1: We both mulliganed, there were a couple of turns of board stall where he didn't want to hit me with his 2 restoration angels and I didn't want to hit him with my spirits. The stall ended with my 3/3 spirits swinging in, his resto eating a path and him getting wrecked by a zealous persecution to kill the other angel (It blocked a spirit). I just attacked and raced his stuff.

Game 2: He had lingering souls and township with one mana short of activating, i drew a timely ghost quarter and zealous persecution the turn after to deal with the spirits. I was able to land my own spirits, deal with kitchen finks and other ground threats. He managed to get through a little bit and start clocking me. I then proceeded to draw Sorin, solemn visitor. Note to anyone playing tokens not playing this guy: This card is bonkers. Every race is now in your favor, and the burn matchup doesn't suck entirely.

2-0  2-0

Match 3: Affinity: This is a pretty solid MU and the guy was really friendly.

Game 1: I was SO sure I was dead. He was able to drop me to one but I drew a timely spectral procession which traded with his 3/3 vault skirge (Ravager counters). I just couldn't attack for a while, and neither could he, but he was drawing random things that wouldn't help and I was drawing anthems and more tokens. I was able to alpha strike and leave back blockers thanks to  intangible virtue. I did this twice and we moved to game 2. Did I mention that all happened while I was at 1 life?

Game 2: He mulliganed and his only creature was apparently ornithopter (He did have a plating though). I had a disfigure. He draw a signal pest and I had a path. I closed the game with tokens and anthems as per usual.

2-0  3-0

Round 4: Grixis twin.

We decided to draw and each get $45 store credit. We kinda played it out but it was REALLY hot in there, so much so that the dude just conceded to spectral procession to go outside, lol.

Pretty happy overall, me and my friend are going to try and 'go infinite' so to speak and keep coming back for free on the back of store credit.

Fnm was awesome this week, got my girlfriend to play in her first fnm tourney so that was great she ran soul sisters and made top eight out of 22 players. I ran amulet bloom and made it to top four but dropped out because I had a long drive home.

Round 1 2-1
Tokens
G1 lost because I got picked apart
G2 won hive mind combo late game
G3 won with Azusa!!! Was awesome he popped off his sorin late game so I thought I aS finished yet I forgot I had her in hand so I played her and gave her +2/0 vigilance haste with slayers stronghold and took the win. He was at 1 life.
Round 2 2-0
Mono Red burn
G1 t3 hive mind with Summoners pact
G2 t3 prime time swinging 10/6 dbl strike and trample for 20.
Round 3 2-0
Jund
G1 he scooped after a t3 titan and no kill spells
G2 he played the wrong Land t2 and when I played my summer bloom he couldn't abrupt decay my amulet so he scooped.
Round 4 0-2
G1 picked apart. Had sigarda hit the board way too late for anything effective.
G2 with a horrible decision I Summoners pact into Azusa to play 2 additional lands and he had a fulminater Mage in hand and blew up one of my bounces for the win.
Round 5 1-1-1
Tron
Just drew out.
Top 8
Soul sisters.
Played my girlfriend and hive mind comboed both games and then dropped outta top 4 after I received my promo path to exile.

Now my girlfriends run with Soul Sisters in a short summary. She's only sat down and played with me a handful of times so she did exceptionally well.

Rnd 1
Gifts tron 0-2
Rnd 2
Home brew 2-0
Rnd 3
Another home brew 2-0
Rnd 4
Griselbrand Reanimater 2-1
Rnd 5

I don't think I know the soul sisters deck that runs Titan T3 and hive mind?
Assuming you ran Titan Bloom?

Hi Everyone! For those of you who have not met me, I'm the guy who plays burn In modern. I'm in Kaalia w/ haste, dimiroverlord, intellegentelmen and obsinantbaloths playgroup. Today I played at a modern event, and I went 3-1.

Match 1 Infect 2-0
G1: pretty standard burn vs infect game, he played creatures, I bolted creatures. The game went on a while when I thought he had spell pierce in hand, but eventually I made it
G2: not much to say, burned him out.

Match 2 U/R Twin 2-1
G1: I burn him out hard the first couple of turns and by turn 4 he is at 6, and I'm hellbent. The next 3 turns were pretty much draw, pass. He kept looking for his combo with lighthouse, and I was trying to get enough instant burn to break through his counters. Eventually I got 4 burnspells and cast them all for the win.
G2: I keep hand with 2 path to exiles in it, turn 3 he plays pestermite, taps my only white source and combos out next turn. Felt like a chump.
G3:  Can't remember much about this game. He ended up going for the beat down plan, and I had more damage a turn.

Match 3 Merfolk 1-2
G1: This game I went too slow, he cast 2 master of waves and I got rekt.
G2: I burned him out quickly and bolted his lords so he couldn't get any gas going.
G3: Kept a one lander with a lot of good one mana burn spells and creatures. Opponent turn 2 spreading seas me. Didn't get another land until turn 4 and by then it was too late.

Match 4 Merfolk 2-1
G1: You guys know how I'm an idiot, right? Kept a one lander with a lot of 1 mana burn spells. Opponent turn 2 spreading seas, but this one I top deck a check land turn 3. Unfortunately it entered tapped and although I got my opponent down to 4 life he beat me down.
G2: He turn one Aether vialed, I turn 2 destructive revelried, and then I burned him out as he tried to find more islands.
G3: I kept a very similar hand to G1 and Match 3 G3, but this time I was on the draw, and top decked a land on turn 1. He did turn 2 spreading seas, but I was able to destructive revelry turn 3 and he was unable to get a good board presence before I killed him.

Took first in my local FNM tonight running Kiki-Resto combo :)

R1- Abzan Jank 2-0
R2- Golgari Persist 2-0
R3- Grisel Reanimator 2-0
R4- GR Tron 1-1-1, I had this in the bag but on turn 5 on time I was only able to get him down to 1 freaking life while I was at 16 I was so upset.
R5- Zoo Burn 2-0
Top 8
R1 Boros burn 2-0
R2 Jund 2-0, this was funny. First game he t3 Lillied and kept 1 upping her until I had a resto in hand so flashed her in and he had no cards and somehow flipped the match around and won by top decking a Kiki Jiki, second game he mulled down to 3 and I Kikied again :)
Final 2- Golgari Persist thing, won 2-0 :)

Overall, great night. Got a serum visions promo and pulled Nissa, languish, abbot of keral keep, infinite obliteration, and Gaeas Revenge from my winning packs along with a Mage Ring Responder but that cards junk

Got first with Wilted Abzan last night.  My only loss was to twin and he was just on the nuts both ganes he won.  I also did not see SB cards so that did not help.

Was a good time since I have not had the time to play for 3 weeks.

Had to leave early, so I only got three matches in. However, they were great! I was running Esper Control.

Match 1:Naya Burn
Haha bad opener + double goblin guide both games really takes a lot out of you.

Match 2: UWR control
This game was amazing. He led off with some burn, I played Lingering Souls and it went from there. Eventually, I layed down a Myth Realized. Over the course of the game, it grew to around 23. However, he also had a Tamiyo, Moon sage to tap it down. I detention sphere'd it, but later he used cryptic command to bounce d-sphere and tap my horde of spirits. He also did this to myth. Soon, I replayed the myth, and bumped his counters enough to kill my opponent. Game 1 took us until we had 8 minutes left in the round. During game 2, I kept pathing his Celestial Collonades until we timed out.

Match 3: Affinity
Game one, I kept a hand with 2 lands and some higher end spells, and I drew no interaction. Oops.
Game two, I kept a hand full of Rune snags, Path to exiles, and a Fate forgotten that I sided in for his Hangarback Walker.
Game three, same deal as game two.

All in all, I had a great time!

I made top 4 last night with Mono Black Eldrazi. This deck is a real thing and I'm loving it. Game 1 was against burn and turn 3  Oblivion Sower both games is hard to race. Game 2 was a mirror match and it's a dozzy it pretty much boiled down to who could get  Oblivion Sower or  Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger first but he did have a small advantage that he already had  Thought-Knot Seer I haven't got mine yet so he got the game. Game 3 was against Gifts he scooped the first game cause I  Inquisition of Kozilek him and he kept a one lander with a  Serum Visions so I took that and he didn't draw a land for the next 4 turns so he scooped. Game 2 he got it with a  Griselbrand this deck has a tough time against flyers. Game 3 I barely got it with  Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger he was able to get  Griselbrand out but it couldn't save him so I got that one. Game 4 was against Mono Red Blood Moon it was a weird brew of a deck but he got it in game 3 with  Ensnaring Bridge he had 3 of them out I could only handle two of em. But overall it was a fun night.

I seen two tron decks (they needed work)  and the rest were homebrews that seam quickly thrown together.  It was my first time competing out of the area so the guys seamed mostly focused on standard.  I won the competition in  Chattanooga TN with a control deck that seamed as if they weren't prepared
