I might replace {doom blade} with {go for the throat}, {dismember}, or {death wind}, but that's just me

I'd replace Scroll Thief with Augur of Bolas, as I could imagine the thief being chump blocked all day. Maybe some Adaptive Automatons. Name 'Merfolk' or 'Drake' depending on the situation.

Most of your deck is pretty low mana cost so you wouldn't need to worry about pitching a land with the augur. Also it could help you find some protection for your bigger dudes.
