Does {rancor} come back to the hand if it is on a creature and I {oblivion ring} the creature? Thanks.

While we're still on the topic how are some ways to get rid of of rancor?

I hear if you target a creature with rancor and your opponent vapor snags the creature the enchantment goes to the graveyard is that true?

scarsabrex

correct as long as rancor is still on the stack.

Xanzurth

Discard, counter, destroy enchant are the only ways I know of to stop {rancor}.

{Naturalize} will only put {Rancor} back in their hand.  Everything else mentioned works though.

Falcon182

Can you {surgical extraction} when {rancor} hits the graveyard for that moment before it goes back to your hand?

BlackJester

Yep.  It's a trigger, and not a replacement, so it uses the stack and you can respond.

Falcon182

{surgical extraction} strikes again! I love that card.

The wording on rancor says "when it is put into the gy from play". So anything that can stop it from getting into play and going to the gy will get rid of it.

Technically it says "from the battlefield" but your point is still valid.

Sorry falcon. I own the Urza's Legacy {Rancor}s. they actually say "from play".

But it's the same thing! 😝🔨

Yeah. Strange. I wonder why they change the wording... Hm...
