Does Tibalt and Tamiyo have anything to do with the story? Or are they just a couple of PWs WotC threw in to sell packs?

Nope, Tibalt is a Demon, only relevance, and Tamiyo is from Kamigawa, wth?

They wanted a two-mana PW, and figured they owed one to {R}, and they wanted a {U} non-Jace (BFT!) and wanted to show that Planeswalkers have a home plane. Why shouldn't there be a non-storyline PW?  I'd rather they made awesome PWs that may not be part of the main story than to awkwardly force the story to the design needs or vice versa.

Two central story characters, Avacyn and Griselbrand, wouldn't have made sense as PWs, and if they DID we'd get ANOTHER {B} and a {W} 'Walker?

Now off my porch you meddlesome kids! πŸ‘΄

I was simply telling him that no, they don't have anything to do with the story.
I think they both have their uses.

BlackJester

It's just that I hear/read so many complaints about those two PWs in particular. That wasn't directed at anyone.

It's just SO πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ my brain is melting and dripping out my ear. πŸ˜“πŸ˜₯

Venser is just a dick lol
How?

He just seems kinda broken IMO.  It always seems like when Venser hits the field, I know I'm about to lose.  And I usually do.  I may just suck against decks with Venser in them though :P

Dudecore

I wish {Jaya Ballard, Task Mage} got her spark, then mud wrestle Chandra for famed Red Mage.

I'd pay to see that

Leviathan

I have nothin against non-canon walkers. In fact I think they should start doing that in core sets and save the REAL characters for story arc-based cards. As far as "owed to red" red has never really had a PW worth writing home about and IMO {Tibalt, the Fiendblooded} didn't change that. The viable ones are almost {U}{W} exclusive. (WotC's most coddled colors)

I love {Liliana of the Veil} and have a huge soft spot for {Sorin Markov}. Then again, I'm a black mage =]

Y U NO LIKE {KOTH OF THE HAMMER}? ???  But, for as much as I <3 Chandra, she's been underwhelming.  I think they were really working with their hands tied behind their back with Tibalt by making him {R}{R}.

Leviathan

I'd put {Koth of the Hammer} at the top of red PWs but they tend to cost to much to do to little. Or in Tibalt's case just not worth the card slot. If you are top decking his +1 is useless and if you have no creatures he is toast. His final will almost never go off.

Tumalc

The new Lilliana is alright. As someone already said better for casual than standard, at least at this point. I wish she was something like a {B}{B} instead of a 4 drop even a {B}{B}{B} would be ok.
