Dude... 5 uncounterable cards allin different colors, that aren't all playable is in no way going to void counter spells. The only thing that makes/made people play a bit less counters is {Cavern of Souls}
This people!  So much this!

We're talking a grand total of 5. Azorius is getting a friggin' hybrid {Cursecatcher} with wings!  {U} counters are hardly getting the shaft here.

{B}{G} - destroy a small threat
{1}{G}{W} - 4/4 (okay, this guy's solid)
{2}{B}{R} - {Moricide} yay. 😏
{1}{W}{W}{U} - DoJ. Control is probably running this anyway.
{4}{B}{R} - kill everyone with exponential decay. 😒

Which one is concerning you folks?

{Syncopate} and {Dissipate} are good answers to gy tricks like Golgari, who are less concerned by hard counters.

But this is all coming from some joker who doesn't play Standard, so take it as you will. 😜

Curving out isn't stupid, but if have to leave 2 mana untapped to {mana leak}, why is it overpowered to ask you to keep 3 untapped? It's a soft counter.

because blue should have to do more than just no sell every spell that comes its way. and mana leaking turns 2-5 is very much a hard counter.

Why should it work harder? Other colors can destroy creatures or exile them, they can even kill indestructible creatures with -1/-1 counters. Blue is the only way to interact with the stack by canceling spells before ETA effects, can't do anything about hex proof creatures once they hit the field (hardly anything can). How about black and it's ability to destroy everything, hardly seems fair, {doom blade} is a great spell, overpowered by the same standards.

If it weren't for {Snapcaster Mage} everyone's opinion would be different.

Anyway, back on topic. Anyone see the new Ultra Pro Return to Ravnica products?
Side load deckboxes for all 5 guilds, new binder, 5 playmats based on the new shock land artwork.

BlackJester

Black can't destroy artifacts or enchantments.

Black can't destroy artifacts or enchantments.

And red can't destroy enchantments.
And blue doesn't have strong creatures.
And green doesn't have fliers, no real disruption.
And white has trouble drawing cards. All around color really.

I think we know that. Essentially a {Oblivion Ring} is a death sentence to black and red.

{Snapcaster Mage} is the problem, not blue. If you had 4 {Mana leaks} in your deck like you're supposed to, like everyone from M12 till Innistrad did (most didn't even play it) then you wouldn't say it was overpowered because your opponent couldn't possibly have draw enough of them to unbalance the game as much as you're claiming. Snapcaster doubles your instants and sorceries so it becomes more difficult to plan around him.

Coffee Vampire

Yeah as a mono black player, I refer to enchantments as "emblems" lol

Dudecore

Just ban {Snapcaster Mage}, stop trying to hose him and stop trying to nerf blue. The war is over, Tiago Chan won. They've got to be sick of building cards that snappy won't abuse.

Blue does not have strong creatures?????  {delver of secrets} disagrees

The origin of {Delver of Secrets} is that blue doesn't have good creatures. Zen - M12 - NPH, meta was U/W control, Valakut and RDW. No blue creatures. And if it werent for {Snapcaster Mage} you could deal with him like you would any other threat.

Leevai420

Snap mana leak I no longer a problem since cavern of souls exists... Infancy counter magic is significantly weakened because of that land and the fact that everyone plays it.

Dudecore

And besides {Disperse}, how doesn't blue really deal with Enchantments or Artifacts? It doesn't seem to have much permanent control.
