Vex and fling

If I play {vexing devil} and the opponent decides to take the dmg, could the dmg go thru, then before I sac it, say {fling} the devil?

Already got that combo in a deck. Wanted to make a mono burn deck. And ya, gisela was just an example. Probably would use the curse instead of the angel
