Exalted is a trigger that gives a creature a boost when attacking alone (+1/+1 to be exact). Simply put, if you have a lone attacker, it gets +1/+1 for each permanent with Exalted you control. Rafiq is one of the better creatures with the ability, as he also gives an additional bonus for a lone swinger
Some give different things I believe

No, Exalted is strictly +1/+1. There are cards that say "of this creature attacks alone..." but it's not technically Exalted.

each instance of exalted to be more specific. a creature with exalted and exalted again would pump a lone attacker twice.

No, Exalted is trictly +1/+1. There are cards that say "of this creature attacks alone..." but it's not technically Exalted.
What about the enchantment?  In M12?

{angelic benediction} originally printed in shards of alara.

it has exalted the +1+1 buff and a seperate tap trigger. the tap trigger has nothing to do with exalted besides havig the same trigger.

Well the exalted helps buff while the other effects helps nullify potential blockers the opponent might have.

Sagemaster

Ohh okay cool! Exalted seems like a lot of fun....

yes given its all on one card you would hope all the effects synergized wouldn't you.

It is :3 until recently, I ran a Command deck around this ability. Here's a hint: if you're playing Exalted, try to throw in as much unblockable as is practical. Hell, if you can run red and have access to this card, {Ma Chao, Western Warrior} would be TERRIFYING in an Exalted deck
(intended as a response to sage)
Exalted is great with {Dueling Grounds} and {Silent Arbiter} too.

Quackmaster5

Unblock able is great with exalted. And so is trample. Perfect creature for exalted {knotvine paladin}. If you are running full exalted, it's basically double exalted.

Ma Chao is BASICALLY unblockable anyway having horsemanship.
