Long opinion inc!!!

Is playing magic gambling? No, you buy cards play with your friends for fun nothing at stake for winning or losing (except bragging rights) then no it's not gambling

If your playing where there is a buy in and prizes at the end. Then this is gambling. You buy in for $xx.xx (your wager) you are betting on yourself to win(the pot) be it split or what have you.

Most drafts/sealed events i go tocost more then what it would cost to buy the same number of packs.

Is it hard core gambling no. Is it a form of gambling yes.

Neither the house needs to. It's their victims, err, customers, who need :P
