I have seen literally all of these decks at my fnm's.

I think I'm just going to stop playing standard till something better comes out.
Why not just beat everyone up with your own homebrew?

I just don't think the sets allow it.
Plus it gets boring playing against the same decks a the time.

Edh, legacy, and vintage will probably be my forte for a while. Though no one really plays vintage so edge and legacy will be okay. Haha. If I can get the cards for them.

Just gotta find someone to trade my standard cards to.

I'm not sure what you mean by "I just don't think the sets allow it."

I'm not hugely versed in competitive play myself, but I have a feeling you might find yourself playing similar decks in Legacy and Vintage too.  At least, from a competitive standpoint.  Casual play brings out all sorts of different decks.

Kuberr

I just remember when I went to fnm and never saw the same decks twice.

That's all. I just don't think these current sets allow many competitive options.

Legacy is extremely broad, so you may see the same idea, but rarely the same exact cards.

You would think with 7 sets out at once there would be variety.

Are you seriously saying thy Legacy has more variety in competitive decks than standard?

Of course.

Like I said previously. The win conditions may be similar, but with many different cards.

It doesn't need a name to be competitive.

I think you need to be playing more drafts. It's the really only way that you will see people forced to build something different.
Drafting well on the other hand is something I'm still learning..

I'm no good at drafting. I can do sealed though. Except it's really expensive to play often.
