I'm not saying my girlfriend has to play, or even know what the cards look like, but if I were given an ultimatum or something I'd be right out the door.

I don't tell her how to have fun, she can't tell me.
Damn straight

I agree right, as long as you aren't prioritizing fun for responsibilities.  A partner should respect the others hobbies as long as those hobbies don't interfere with things.  I've known guys that spent grocery money on cards, that didn't do any cleaning up or things like that because they were spending hours and hours playing video games.  Sometimes, that was me.

Trust me sometimes waiting is te best thing to do. I got hurt a lot and ended up single for about a year and a half before I met my current girlfriend who has no problem with me playing magic even though I just started and was playing yugioh before that. It's just important to did someone who not only likes you but isn't judgmental about what you do. Be you man and (deleted) who ever doesn't like it man. Keep your chin up

Edited for cleanliness.

I used to play Mt:G when I was a kid. Grew up, met a girl, lived and got married. About a year ago started playing MTGO and she didn't care for it, thinking it was just another dumb "computer game". It wasn't until I went out and bought a AVR booster box , and started playing with paper again, did she realise what it was.

She doesn't mind me playing at all, because it's a hobby and knows I'm not stupid enough to spend all our cash on cards but every time we're in town she bugs me to buy a few packs, purely because she likes to open them and likes all the "pretty" ones. Bought another box on Monday, and she was happier about it than I was!

Chin up OP, if she can't accept you for who you are then you're better off without her.
