{Natural Affinity} + {Echoing Decay}

BlackJester

Nice!  And if you REALLY want to make them cry, {Eradicate}.  >:D

BadLuckIrish

Swamps aren't black arent they?

Quackmaster5

I am curious how this works in a game in which there are multiple land types, say a 2-3 color deck. Even though all lands become 2/2, that card specifically says "other cards with the same name". You wouldn't be able to name "basic lands" would you? Or would you have to say "forest, swamp, mountain, etc"?

Nope.  Not even a little.

You could only get one basic land type.  Totally hoses mono-colored decks.  Vintage decks go largely unaffected.

Quackmaster5

So that combo is only good for playing against mono colored decks, pretty much?

BadLuckIrish

thats what i thought. Now to explain to my friend how a land isnt that lands mana color.

Well, if you kill all of one of their colors in play, and then strip their entire deck of it, they'll be hampered, but not toast.

LOL  Does your friend say "I'll play my blue mana."  while putting an {Island} on the table?   ::)

Jake, Fart Sculptor

Usually if you are playing against a multicolored deck, you should have a sense of what they need most, wether they have a dominant color, or maybe a splashed color for a specific card, either way, take out their ability to use one color of their deck, and usually it will have dire consequences for your opponent.

Now if only this could work for non-basic lands...

Coffee Vampire

It does, but I named basic lands because there are usually more of them on the battlefield than nonbasics. So if you want to destroy nonbasic lands with this combo, you can. But might as well use something that cost less mana.

(oh and once you destroy their lands, attack with your lands! :D)

KulrathKnight

Someone I game with uses this combo, but artifact form. {Mycosynth Lattice} + {Splinter}.

Thorn

{myconsyth lattice} + {stony scilence}
NO MORE MANA EVER!!!!!!

BadLuckIrish

{Mycosythe Lattice} {Unwinding Clock}
