I'm super new to MTG and wondering if anyone has tips for early deck building. Are certain color combinations better together? I have been struggling with deck building. Thanks!

All colours work well together when finding the right combination! There's one combo that people freak out about I've found, being white and black (which I highly disagree with with, it one of my preferred combos using small creatures, sacrificing them for effects and using them in your graveyard for further effects). But they are well balanced combos. The colour chart is layout in order of white, blue, black, red, green. Generally any colour next to each other work very well together, eg some of the most common combos are white/blue, blue/black, white/green and blue/black/red. These are 'allied colours' due to being next to each other, there are good enemy colour

(accidentally pressed Post, oops!) ... good 'Enemy Colour' combos, two of the best and most common are black/green (necromancy and groth of life) and white/red (order and chaos). Any colour combo works well as long as you work out how to link them effectively, however, STEER CLEAR OF 5 COLOUR DECKS until fluent with the game!!! I rarely use them and I've been playing for nearly 20yrs! Lol. Hope this helped! I always love helping new comers. For more info on it though, check out www.mtgsalvation.com and do a search for the Colour Pie and maybe even read up on the Shards of Alara Block to get a better understanding!
