Do police and authorities take this kind of stuff seriously anyway? Magic and hobby related stuff where the value is perceived and intrinsic rather than instrumental

No cop that wants to keep his job would do anything.
Making a police officer do this is keeping their attention from REAL crimes. Which in turn goes down the chain of command. Which never has a good ending.

I wouldn't even waste the cops time.

This is a real crime it's called "theft" it's a new fangled thing that's been around since humans came around and started taking things that are not theirs to take and more recently we have these hard working people called law enforcement that catch and punish people who steal from others

incarceration for one and fines it all depends on how hard someone wants to press charges and i will be pressing them as far as they go.
