WARNING! THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS!

This is a discussion about the up-and-coming frog legend coming out for commander!

The Gitrog Monster

3BG

Legendary creature - Frog Horror

Deathtouch

At the beginning of your upkeep sacrifice The Gitrog Monster unless you sacrifice a land.

You may play an additional land on each of your turns.

Whenever one or more land cards are put into your graveyard from anywhere, draw a card.

6/6

Now, what is very obvious is how well he works with cards like {Titania, Protector of Argoth}, {Life from the Loam}, {Scapeshift}, ect. What I'd like to try and figure out is other cards that you wouldn't think of that work well with this monster. Thank you in advance for any comments or suggestions!

Anything with landfall triggers seems good.

More cards like {Exploration} and {Oracle of Mul Daya} for even more extra land. Landfall triggers + lands that fetch ( {Verdant Catacombs},  {Evolving Wilds},  {Terramorphic Expanse}) + extra land per turn = massive amounts of landfall triggers.

I very much agree with life from the loam. Other cards that fetch land to your hand rather than the battlefield could be nice.

All in all, I'm looking forward to this lovely frog.

{Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest} approves of the frog.
And {Titania, Protector of Argoth}.

Alright, thank you all for the suggestions! I figured out that the commander is even better than I thought and I've decided to make it a combo deck and winning by either dread returning {Eternal Witness}, bringing back {Victimize} returning both {Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord} + {Lord of Extinction}, OR going for the {Necrotic Ooze} combo ( {Devoted Druid}, {Bloodrite Invoker}, {Quillspike} ). This will be one of my first "competitive combo" decks in a while, and the goal is to mill yourself with dredgers to get one of the two combos within the deck. I'll post a deck list eventually, thanks!

For that type of deck I'd recommend a search for:
-type: land
-text: sacrifice search.
Then include each and every fetch that can get a forest or swamp. Slow fetches, panorama's, {evolving wilds}, etc. to capitalize on that card draw. Then add stuff to further increase land drops.

EDIT; and since you're going combo, land destruction lands with {crucible of worlds} is just nasty.
If you want to negate the "comes into play tapped" there's {amulet of vigor}.

EDIT2: depending on your budget/collection, {lotus vale} & {scorched ruins} from Weatherlight could become very nice ramp/card draw as well.

The new drownyard temple seems like a decent addition for your sacrifice target with Mr Frog. Sacrifice it then return it for 3 mana (which you will likely have plenty of). With your commander out, that's a potential 3 landfall triggers per turn (if you're into that sort of thing) not including fetches or other extra lands per turn cards.

I agree with the drownyard, it just seems like a good land to have overall.
