My buddy built an extremely competitive Nekusar a couple months ago to combat my Arcum and we just have grindy as hell matches every Sunday. It's some of the best Magic I've ever played because we're so evenly matched. Just watch out for that {Omen Machine} 😉

99% of competitive Nek decks do not run Notion Thief. Consensus is "you cast it, you lose". It's very easy to lose track of how many cards you're drawing off it and then you deck yourself. This is why {Consecrated Sphinx} is better, as it is a "may" vs a mandatory effect...

I'm aware. Notion Thief also just straight-up loses to an opponent's Consecrated Sphinx. It's still a funny card to bring up in a topic about wheels. And it's probably still a fine card for UBx control shells, since in the worst case you can use your own kill spell on it to stop drawing cards when you don't want to deck out.
