My question is not only about this cards but it's the first time I see a card with X X (R)

How does it works ?

X is paid twice, so of you want to deal 1 damage across the board, you pay R (1) (1), if you wanna deal 3 you pay R (3)(3).

It's nice if you miracle it, but otherwise it's a high cost to pay. R(6) for a slag storm, and an incinerate. Which if you were to cast those two, would only cost you 5cmc. 3 mountains of course.
