Seems sweet. Also, looking at the discussions about the <> on the forums, it's amazing how confused this is making people. Makes me extra glad WotC is doing this, since it seems like a lot of folks don't understand the difference between colorless and generic mana.

Generic - mana of any source
Colorless - mana that has no color source

Can generic mana be produced from a source with no color and still be colorless

Or is colorless a new color source and only colorless producers produce colorless

Try thinking of the new basics as basic islands. Work the exact same way i imagine

That's what I'm saying, obviously wastes makes specifically colored mana (colorless)

For colorless costs.

My real question is does generic mana count as colorless

Like because it isn't colored does that automatically make it colorless by default or

There's a colorless 1 (new color)
And colorless (generic lol) which is the {1} we all know and love

Like colors can be generic but generic can't be colored

So by that equation
Generic can't be nu-colorless

And then artifacts are based on generic not colorless, and therefore things like {sol ring} still produce true generic mana not colorless

A source never produces "generic" mana. Mana is colored or colorless.
The generic mana in the casting cost can be paid with any type of mana.
That's the difference. Both are (for now) depicted with the same symbol {1}, but that symbol means two different things.

So Kiora managaed to summon {Lorthos The tidemaker} and new Kozi 1-shotted him...

seriously, like, she wakes up lorthos, he opens his eye, she summons him, he appears, they approach the shore, they go to attack Ulamog's butt and Kozilek rises and like a sushi chef with fresh octopus *BAM* Lorthos Spring Rolls

The black walker for the set is Ob, who doesn't do reanimation. If Kiora would not have gone emo but berserk, picking up RB and becoming the first 4C walker, able to get seamonsters out of the yard, I'd dig it. Now, not so much. Lorthos is gone. Ob and Nissa duke it out in the next episode, with Ob fleeing for Inistrad (speculation), then Nissa empowers the land to rise up and be eaten.

Another Ob Nixilis though? I could see a new nissa, but another Ob in the same block sounds a little weird to me.. maybe nissa and then chandra, or perhaps nihiri

I don't think he'll be printed again, but he is the blocks black walker. Of the four oath walkers Gideon already has a card in standard, I'm thinking the other three will get cards.
