Nah dude I've been playing it online and nacatl has been absolutely stupendous.

Legitimate question since this is an active burn modern deck thread :p

Why is {Guttersnipe} not used in modern burn? I get that T3 tapping out could be troublesome and that dealing the most amount of damage in the shortest time is the idea, but it bypasses {Leyline of Sanctity} and let's you focus more on board control with burn. Was just curious as to what makes Snipey not cool enough for modern

Its 3 mana for a dude that does nothing until you untap, leaving him vulnerable to removal.
If he gets removed by say a {Lightning Bolt} your opponent essentially paid {R} to {Time Walk}.

He's a little better late game, but only if you actually have more than 3 mana. But we have enough other cards that are just better that he's not worth running.

Ahh, that does make more sense than what I was thinking. I play casual almost exclusively, but I like learning of new formats and I've been looking at Modern for awhile now and I really like to learn why certain cards are used over other cards.

I don't think anyone's expecting a reprint, just hoping for one. It obviously won't happen because it can't be in standard with swiftspear.

I agree. Swiftspear, guide, berserker and Zurgo? You almost have modern burn there in standard
