BlackJester's Tricks #42: Makin' Copies!

I had to stop staring at the AVR card list as a began to see double.  That's when I realized I actually WAS seeing double, and then more, and more.  Suddenly, my mind broke with infinite possibilities.  I love discovering infinite combos in Standard, and when this one hit me, it was too good to pass up.  There are actually many interlocking pieces, and I have enough fodder to make a deck.  In fact, that's just what I did!  It's still in experimental stages and I keep wanting to squeeze more into it, but I need to find out what works and what doesn't.  But enough of my yammering, ON WITH THE SHOW!

First, it's Standard legal, but I doubt its competitiveness, but hey, ya never know.  The Major Player in this deck is:

{Mightnight Guard} + {Dual Casting} + {Priest of Urabrask} + {Cloudshift} = infinite mana, infinite humans coming & going.

Also, I added in Token Generating spells, for cheap armies.  If you want cannon fodder, you may as well get them in bulk.

With both infinite creatures and mana, we can pull a lot of stunts:  Direct X damage spells ({Devil's Play}), Infinite Angels ({Entreat the Angels}) to name a couple with mana, and creature based direct damage ({Vigilante Justice}), buff the team ({Cathars' Crusade}), or gain infinite life ({Suture Priest}).  I've left some of these out and I still need to whittle.

I added a singleton {Act Of Treason} if you do get infinite mana and an absurd amount of ETB triggers on the Midnight Guard (remember, if one spell puts three creatures onto the battlefield, three untap triggers will go on the stack and you can respond between each one) Then you can steal your enemy's team.  Plus, if you {Cloudshift} a stolen creature, it's YOURS!  You don't have to give it back until it dies.  >:D  (Thanks for the idea Dywolf!)

If you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know.  I'd like to actually pilot this deck when the set come out.

Thar she blows!

Yeah, I know. But the most of the deck is stall with tokens. And if you can make multiple copies of {Timely Reinforcements} or {Infernal Plunge} you can stave off attacks for a while.

Doesn't it only make red mana? So how would you play cloudshift over and over? And where do the humans come and go?

When {Priest of Urabrask} ETBs, he makes RRR, you use that for the activation cost on {Dual Casting} to make a copy of {Cloudshift} which makes the Priest ETB, which untaps the {Midnight Guard}, which taps to copy {Cloudshift}, which makes the priest ETB which makes RRR which.......

Sagemaster

Ohhh okay! So how do you play the humans?

Check the creature type of the Priest. I'll wait here.
