Suspend and casting

When a suspended card removes its last time counter and enters the battlefield, was it cast? I see some suspend cards like {reality strobe} say "play" them without paying their mana cost when the time is up on the card, but the oracle text for the same card says cast, so I was looking to see which was the case.

For example, if {kozilek, butcher of truth} is suspended, when he hits the field, does his 4-card-draw when cast ability trigger?

And on the same wavelength, if it's being cast, can it be countered?

The oracle wording has been updated to say that you do cast the spell.  It was not cast "from your hand", though  Oracle is always the most recent wording.

Yes, and sick. 😜 It'll even have haste.

Yes, spells being cast can be countered. Copies put on the stack can be countered too. But suspend cards count toward Storm count too, copied spells don't.

Excellent, thanks for the clarification BlackJester!

Aw man, {Emrakul, Aeons Torn} and {Jhoira of the Ghitu}... I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.   :-X

That's exactly the deck Im asking for, sort of. Emrakul is banned in the Commander format, but kozilek and Ulamog are not. Nor are a billion other 9+ conververted cost creatures...

Hmm sure that will put him onto the battlefield, but I don't think it will trigger his 'cast' activations. Just a thought

Coffee Vampire

But you don't get the extra turn with the amulet! ;)

Edit: Ohhhhh beat to the punch!
