Lol when you cast from hand it doesn't factor in command tax. If somebody hates out your commander so it'd end up costing 14 mana to cast, you can bounce it to your hand with the land and then cast it for only 6 or whatever

So I've read in a lot of places so far that the other new WB commander is called Karlov of the Gohst Council. I'm thinking then that {Teysa, Orzhov Scion} will be the reprint because of its token synergy.

There it is, just spoilt. Whenever you gain life put two +1/+1 counters on Karlov.

WB: remove six +1/+1 counters, exile target creature.

If your playing 5 mana for a counterspell and it's not {force of will} your doing it wrong. {cryptic command} has more than enough utility.

I wasn't really comparing the card to anything, only remarking that it's a sweet blue card, and it definitely has enough utility to go in my {Oloro, Ageless Ascetic} control build. Besides, it's not really 5 mana for a counterspell, any more than {Cryptic Command} is 4 mana for a counterspell. You're paying 5 mana to 3-for-1 your opponent, which is usually pretty sweet.

On another note, Karlov wants to hang out with Oloro too

So let's say you even have a valid target for bounce a creature. It still all gets counted by {remand} or {counterspell}. Obviously for 5 mana you should get a serious effect. Even if you get it all, you likely should have just played cryptic command so you could hold up {dispel}. I understand you weren't trying to make the comparison. I was though and I think this card is pretty close to unplayable.
