I have heard a lot of people as of late talking about wanting to play there bloom deck because it may not be around much longer. Is there a banning coming up soon that I am not aware of? Or is it just a lot of people speculating?

Must be speculation. Bans will be announced near when the next set comes out, next month.

So there is a banning set for next month? Hmm, that must be what everyone talking about. I wonder if they really will ban something to stop bloom. Honestly I would be much happier if they banned fricking twin!

Are judges informed ahead of time? Because there is a judge at my LGS that has been spot on every time (pod, cruise in all formats, DTT, DRS, World-gorger) and he is talking like he knows about the banning coming up.

Highest likelihood is {Summer Bloom} banning so the deck can still exist without the T2-3 kills. Definitely will be in a weaker state if they do.

Mr_Fahrenheit

Just because a deck is capable of turn 2 or 3 kills doesnt mean the ban hammer needs to go after it. Look at storm. It is capable of turn 2 or 3 kills but it doesnt consistently get them. I view amulet bloom the same. Yeah its hard to beat if it draws the perfect 7 but its hardly oppressive. I hope none of it gets banned.

NovusOrbis

It's like what happened to Scapeshift. DTT came out and the deck moved to tier 1, but after banning became less popular.

blackychan1

He says that summer bloom won't be the banning, but something from that deck is getting banned depending on the next modern GP.

As far as I understand it, bannings are not to ruin a entire deck and make it unplayable. They are just to lessen the power of it. Now I have never actually played the bloom decks but I don't see any other card they would be able to ban that just wouldn't outright make the deck unplayable. That's just my opinion though. And I have been wrong many a time.
