So I preordered my NEA mini (www.nea3d.com) today for $500. It usually costs $1000. Yay VIP.

Anywho, what the heck should be the first thing I print?

What do you/will you use for CAD? (Assuming you will design things that is)

Whatever free cad program I can find

I suggest Google Sketchup. Free, pretty easy to get the hang of, and once you get good at it you can design some pretty cool things even though it's relatively simple. Also,

I can't remember the logistics it kinda ends up like a sugar cube. But you can make different shapes and flavors.

3d printers have one specific material they can print. Because he got it for $500, I feel safe in assuming plastic. So no guns or candy. :/

You can make plastic guns. And yes, it only prints in plastic.
