i don't really know how you would do this as I can't think of anything that could block only bots and not people, but something to stop the wave of spambots would be nice...

Ekann1

Maybe something like they have on many other websites where you have to enter a sequence of letters/numbers from a picture on signup?

Ekann1

Maybe no links in someone's first 5 posts or so? Just throwing some ideas out there.

Yea, the CAPTCHA thing seems like a good idea

When my brother was logging into post for the first time I thought he had to enter a captcha? I'll check with him tomorrow to confirm, but maybe it's a one time thing.

An anti spambot mechanism of some sort would be fabulous.....I see like, 5+ spammy posts just in the past few hours :/

Seriously, go look in the help section. It's terrible!!!

Yeah, looks like we got a new one. Just report, he'll get his ban.

Help us Piotr, we are drowning in spam bots. *choke*

What about a spam filter that if any of web addresses A, B, C are posted, the post won't go through? Not sure if this is feasible, just thinking outside the box. Otherwise, I'm more than willing to run around with my spam gun.
