 {Hardened Scales},  {Doubling Season} both work very well with animar.

I don't think that'd work very well. You're trying to run two different decks in one. It's like trying to combine Stoneblade with Oops all spells. It adds all the threats from both but removed the stuff from each that gets you where you need to go

I would say go walkers, but change the commander as animar has nothing to help walkers at all.  {Maelstrom Wanderer} Or  {Riku of Two Reflections} Are very solid choices for a walker deck
