Notes:
My attempt at a Modern Superfriends deck.

LinkCelestrial

{Birds of Paradise}/{Noble Hierarch}: The main issue I foresee with this deck is speed. Mana dorks are here to help. My only issue is that they don't synergies with board wipes, and that I don't get the advantage of making their removal redundant every game. If you have suggestions on a better way to ramp, I'm listening.

{Venser, the Sojourner}: one of the best cards in the deck. His +2 allows me to save hurting PWers which is ultra synergies with {Doubling Season}. The -1 is largely irrelevant, however his ult, while not immediately usable even with {Doubling Season}, is extremely good.

{Riot Control}: I felt like a little life gain might go a long way in this deck. Plus it fits into the {Fog} theme that's quite prevalent in this deck.

{Fog}: speak of the devil. Most of you should be familiar with Turbo Fog. This deck borrows that theme.

{Doubling Season}: drop a walker and watch it ult. I was debating various forms of Elspeth to synergies with this but either the mana cost was too high or the abilities weren't relevant enough.

{Ajani, Mentor of Heroes}: Dig deeper or go on a {Birds of Paradise} beat down plan. Either way he is quite good. Did I mention he can ult on the drop with {Doubling Season} for 100 life?

{Kiora, the Crashing Wave}: While she can't immediately drop for 9/9 Krakens she can be very close. Her +1 is a very synergetic targeted {Fog} while her -1 can provides much needed card draw and ramp. An auto include for this build.

{Jace, Architect of Thought}: one of my favourite Planeswalkers. +1 can act as a {Fog} like effect. The -2 is a mini {Fact or Fiction} which is great. The ult is a win con depending on what deck I'm playing against, /and/ it can go off the turn he drops with {Doubling Season}.

{Dawn Charm}: Found this gem while digging through {Fog} spells. Utility to the max and a nice counter to one of the weaknesses of this deck, burn. And it can save a mana dork if I really want? Seems very good.

{Gideon Jura}: Worst case scenario an overpriced {Fog}. Which this deck is perfectly fine with. The -2 can take care of threats if need be and the 0 is a win con if I can keep him alive and the board empty.

{Holy Day} Yet another {Fog}.

{Supreme Verdict}: because sometimes you need to just flip the table and start over. Without losing anything but a couple of mana dorks.

When the new Narset comes out she may earn herself a slot by bumping Gideon, Ajani or Kiora around.

How the deck plays: By praying for enough {Fog}s or a timely {Supreme Verdict} in the early game. Then it either drops {Doubling Season} and wins or tries to stall the opponent enough for game winning ults to go off "naturally". It can safely use - abilities to dig and stabilize while Venser resets counters or it can use Jace, Kiora and Gideon to sponge up damage and give me the extra turns I need to win.

Sideboard coming soon.

Honourable Mentions:

{Ugin, the Spirit Dragon}: a win condition all on his own. All the abilities would be great, it's just the 8 mana price tag that forces me to say no.

{Elspeth, Suns Champion}: of the Elspeths that I looked at, this one survived the most cuts. We all know how powerful she is in standard, and I'd expect her to swing games my way in this deck too. The problem is the 6 mana cost and a highly irrelevant ult. She may find a way back into the deck later. But not today.

{Ajani Steadfast}: the -2 is fantastic. However a highly irrelevant +1 and the alternate option of {Ajani, Mentor of Heroes} caused this card's cut. I still want to combine him with Venser for virtually free counters.

{The Chain Veil}: at the end of the day what kills this card is the activation cost. It's just too high. I had it as a one of simply because I wanted to make it work for a long time. But I had to say goodbye.

{Guard Gomoza}/{Fog Bank}: {Fog} on a stick. At the end of the day {Supreme Verdict} caused me to cut these two fantastic cards. Plus the fact that they'd have to side out vs some decks along with all the fogs I'm running.

Black: I was very, very tempted to go Sultai. In the end white just had more relevant Planeswalkers and {fog} effects.

What I need from you: Any synergetic or combo cards I missed? Can you recommend a cheap (mana cost wise) alternative to ramping creatures? I'd like to run more wipes and go creatureless. Please note that I considered all the currently printed Planeswalkers along with the recently spoiled Narset when building this deck. If you're going to suggest a Planeswalker back up the why and what to replace please.

Why are you running fog effects?

4 doubling season and no narset?

Yes. Narset isn't Modern legal yet and I still think she's a tad overrated. She may earn a slot later and I intend to playtest. Is four {Doubling Season} too many? Or is it just an excuse to run Narset?

{remand} to make sure the things you need to resolve do resolve. Or {mana leak}.

Do a google search of Turbo Fog. Look for a deck tech or a primer. They'll explain it better than I'm about to.

I'm running {Fog} effects because it buys me time. With time I get to ult Planeswalkers and win the game. Most strategies in modern right now involve winning via the combat phase (twin, delver, 98% of Abzan, Reanimator). I have a bad matchup vs Burn, Scapeshift and Mill. However, the intention is to have a sideboard that transforms into more of a control deck vs these nasties.

I was debating those. What are you thinking? Cut a couple of {Fog} effects?

Uh...no she's not out yet. Not {Narset, Enlightened Master}. {Narset Transcendent}.

I think what you mean is narset the PW hasn't been printed yet 😄. Either way I'm liking this deck. Consider some board wipes for the sideboard  {Wrath of God} or  {Supreme Verdict}. Now the walkers do have some blow up abilities but I'd say hedge your bets. Maybe  {Path to Exile} As well because  {Tasigur, the Golden Fang} Is a thing and you don't want him bringing something back. In that vain  {Rest in Peace} or  {Grafdigger's Cage}.  {Torpor Orb},  {Defense Grid}, and  {Ensnaring Bridge} are also some good artifact sideboard hate

LinkCelestrial

I have a functional sideboard. I do need to add GY hate...thank you for the suggestions.

LinkCelestrial

This deck is seriously ridiculously good.

{Venser, the Sojourner} preformed way better than I expected. Everytime one of my other PWers was in danger he saved them. When they catch onto that he saves himself (or my various fog effects do). They /have/ to one shot my PWers when Venser and {Doubling Season} are on the board or get smart and try to go wide, but Gideon stops that. And this is all just his first ability! The unblockable effect was much better than I expected. I'm loving this card and I've still never ult'd him.

{Gideon Jura}: I was quite skeptical at first. I am no longer. He is a repeatable fog, and with {Doubling Season} and {Venser, the Soujurner} on the board my opponent has to either do 14 damage in one turn, or wait until I'm blinking him and kill me. And unless they do 12 or more damage I get to pop one if their attackers before I blink him. All this, and I can still use the 0 to beat down if I've got nothing better to do.

{Ajani, Mentor of Heroes}: I am extremely glad I picked this version of Ajani. The +1/+1 counters are more relevant then I ever thought they'd be as they allow my mana dorks to play offensive or defensively. The dig ability is fantastic. His -8 draws out concedes vs all but the crazy or comboing.

I just played a game vs zombie tribal. Didn't draw a single {Fog} effect till I'd already sealed the game.

I highly recommend you guys try this deck on untap.in and see what I mean. Advice would be nice too.

Codester1991

Doubling season with the new Narset Planeswalker would be silly.

That's the only reason I suggested her.

That's the only reason she's worth considering. Time will tell.
