Counter vs. creature control

I'm puttin together a {sidisi brood tyrant} self mill deck. Tryin to focus on a aggro fall back strategy. I have a fair amount of ramp/mana fetch between creatures and spells, and 4 counter spells and no creature elimination at all. My question is, is counter better than elimination?
