Just kidding, but his survivability is pretty much a factor. You don't want to cast this dude just so your opponent can just recycle his etbs and flip up all his morphs right?
If he can survive until your own combat phase, it offers options.

Plus Spear of Heliod is similar and it doesn't see play

I read somewhere that his P/T will be like  {Keldon Warlord}, where * is equal to the damage you took...

Agree with llama. Rather pay {G} for a {fog} and then whomp back with all his attackers tapped.
