Why {erebos, God of the dead}? Is lifegain that rampant in your meta? For a non tribal card I feel like you could do better. {crypt ghast} is sweet, maybe {vampire nighthawk} as a super blocker. If you really want to draw cards just run {necropotence}, the best card engine black ever got. And I'd cut {archetype of finality}. Sure a bunch of rats with deathtouch is great, but she's so fragile and expensive in herself, not worth it imo.

Erebos was primarily for the card draw, but I agree with what your saying. I completely agree with everything here, it's kinda the thing where I hadn't figured out what is better to replace them with. I know they won't make the starting team.
