So to punish us did you remove karma entirely? Now it only shows on our profiles..

Did I or did I not 'remove karma entirely'? 10 days ban for incorrect answer.
Obviously, this is your app and you are free to do what you like, but the ban was a bit rash, even if {{GlowackAttack}}'s post was a little out of line. Also, in my opinion, banning over something so small stirs up the community and may discourage new users. Is there another way this could be handled (not a rhetorical question, an honest inquiry)? That said, I honestly didn't notice the change until I read {{5/9 Turtle}}'s post, I assumed someone had necroed a thread from the first time Karma changed. The change is probably a positive or neutral change, karma really doesn't effect anything and if someone really wants to see if another user is 'trustworthy' they can still check their profile (not that karma really determines that). Although, I do see the point that others are making, maybe -100 to 0 will discourage new people, is there a way we can convert that into titles (for example, someone with -100 to -90 karma could be "Beginner", -89 to -80 a "Novice", etc.)?
Piotr doesn't seem interested in necessarily keeping new people... unless I am misunderstanding his response to that exact point...

GlowackAttack got confused, he didn't realize that if you have perfect karma, no karma shows up. So he thought that you (Piotr) erased it. Instead of banning him for making an incorrect statement, maybe you could have instead showed him where he was wrong?

Not true. Look at people who haven't hit 100 (intelligentgentleman).

Not everyone is in the mob mentality (at least not this time). I saw Truffle's post, but it was already established what was changed, I think that the debate has now shifted to whether or not this change is positive.

To be fair, he did correct himself:

I SEE NOW MY MISTAKE, it just so happened that an entire page of posts didn't have anybody with less than 100 karma... HOWEVER, it still should be put back the way it ways way back when...

Piotr

To be fair, does it matter?

Popper23345

The whole " 5 pages of discussing what happened to our karma " must prove that SOME people must think that it matters...

It should be taken into account when the punishments are distributed. (IMO) Whether that changes the punishment or not, I don't know.

I don't understand why we just can't have a vote.

It is not your property.

That makes sense, though I don't see the disadvantage to leaving it to a vote.
