I've recently been wanting to try legacy. How cheap and simple can I go and still do well at tournaments?

Burn and Manaless Dredge are the two cheapest decks I can think of, though manaless is not simple to play.

There's also Goblin Charblecher and Oops all Spells which are on the lower end (money wise) of legacy

DrainCleaner

I built oops all spells so i could at least start playing in tournaments and get to know the format while i build a real deck.

There is only one real deck. The rest are just its throne. This deck is: Leyline Deck Wins

Delver is fairly cheap. Other than {force of will} and {Volcanic Islands} it's cheap bc fetches are cheap now

make something that is fun and that you enjoy playing. that is all

Proxy a few decks. Play test and see which is more suited to your style. The fun ones (for me at least) are combo. Like reanimater, sneak and show and elves. Painter seems to getting play at my shop because it's on the cheaper end, because there is no blue.

My list is the thread right beneath this... Check it out...

No manaless dredge is considered to be a super easy deck to play. Once you learn the simple interactions it required little to no decision making
