Barry's Land was a proposed sixth land type that was going to be introduced into... Onslaught block, I think? It was a Basic Land- Cave that was "{T}: add {1} to your mana pool." But it was scrapped as it broke many cards in half. There was also something to do with {Reliquary Tower} but I can't remember what, I was young and probably drunk at the time.

Reliquart tower's artwork was on the original "cave" and it eventually became known as reliquary  tower are R and D determined a colorless land was too intense.
Barrys land was essentially a nonbasic land that can be considered a basic land...a 6th card for the Domain effect. A non basic with the {relentless rat} ability allowing it to be a basic land and in unlimited quantities.

There's some speculation that we could see the Filter lands in Fate Reforged and/or Dragons of Tarkir because Hybrid is in Fate Reforged. I would love to see it, they need a reprint.
