Trait doctoring

If my opponent taps land to cast a creature, I play {trait doctoring}, does that counter the creature spell by changing the required mana to a different color, or does my opponent keep his creature?

Firstly, {trait doctoring} is a sorcery, so you cannot play it on your opponents turn, or in response to anything.

{mind bend}, while it is an instant, it changes the words, not the mana symbols in the CMC of spells.

And lastly, once a spell is on the stack, anything that changes it's casting cost is too late to affect it, as costs are paid on casting not on resolution.

Also, using a mana source does not use the stack, so it cannot be responded to.

Heroic with {Favored Hoplite} is good also Trait Doctering a creature with protection from say {B} now you can make it pro {R} and {Doom Blade} it other than that it's a very lousy card and an even worse Rare!!!

I suppose you could change islandwalk to swampwalk or forestwalk or something :D that would be great lol killing off chasm skulker to give you an army of swampwalkers or something better suited to your opponent

another good use for it is to change the color that a creature has protection from. like if you change {master of waves} to having protection from red to blue, now you can {lightning strike} him. or change {blood baron of vizkopa} to having protection from green instead of black and now you can {hero's downfall} him.
