Is there any way to tell differences between a proxy and an original card with the same art?

Black light
Bend test
Light test

Google these

You can also rip the card in half and see if the inside is lined with a blue layer >.>

Walkhard

And the water test too lol.

Haha.. I agree.. Just do some testing:) I am going to start making these soon. It depends how they are made, transparencies are easy, print on tops are too, different weight. And stickers look different.
The best way, tests, black light, bend, and go to a shop to look at an actual card to compare:)

You should be able to rub it in between your thumb and forefinger and have it feel weird.

VQMracing

When I rub it, it feels real waxy. And a light goes right through it. I'm guessing proxy?

I read the first sentence there ... Did not think that you were talking about cards lol

ibtrickey

Light should not be able to go through the card or proxies..

VQMracing

Mattao, what did you think I was talking about in your mind?? Haha and what do you mean trickey

Walkhard

I've never felt a magic card that was waxy. Unless I had just waxed it.

VQMracing

That is what I thought too. It is really strange, but it passes tests I believe.

Walkhard

What card is it? And I'd still avoid buying till you are 110% sure it's real

VQMracing

I already got it... It's what I get for trusting people, and an {Ulamog, the infinite gyre} what would it mean if it lets through too much light?

MuggyWuggy

I gotta double check for FTV legends as I have a sisay from that collection that is off for the blacklight test. But who would proxy a sisay?
