Congrats man, now PLEASE roam the rules thread here and there, I feel like there's some questionable advise in there.

Nice! I'm only ORA myself, what's it like being L1?

I'm working on my judgeship! Still trying to figure out the process. But now that there is a shop in town, I think it'd be fun to do over the summer (especially since no one is an official dci judge)

Welcome to the ranks!  Now attend as many GPs as you can to get snazzy foils!

On a more serious note, get as much judge experience as you can.  Rules knowledge is awesome, but the first time you run an event by yourself, you'll probably trip something up.  It's only natural.  Don't hesitate to ask for help or advice if you need it.  Judges need to learn just as much, if not more than players so we can help answer anything that comes up.  And make sure you're having fun! (And getting compensated for your time!)

As for this, you should figure out who your Regional Coordinator is and contact them to express interest, if you don't have an L2 readily available to mentor under.  Make sure to study up and do the Rules Advisor and L1 Practice tests, and your RC should be able to help you from there

For any others of you that might look toward it and have access to a certified judge to apprentice under, go for it.  You'll need to find an L2+ to actually test you, but being able to shadow even an L1 while they run an event is great experience.
