{Vorel of the Hull Clade} doubles the counter? on a creature, for example ive earned x4 +1/+1 on a {Scavenging Ooze} , it gets another x4 +1/+1?? sorry for having poor english understanding, and thanks for helping

Erik_the_gray

If there is only a +1 counter (even more than one) on the permanent, you can only add one +1 counter with his ability.

What is your native language?

Erik_the_gray

{Doubling Season} will allow you to add 2x whatever counters are being added to a permanent, but Vorel only let's you add one counter of each type that exists on a permanent.

Think of it this way: you do not have a single x4 +1/+1 counter on scavenging, you have four SEPERATE counters. So  {Vorel of the Hull Clade}'s ability will give you one more of those counters, so you then have 5 +1/+1 counters.

4/15/2013 The effect of Vorel's ability will essentially double the counters on the target artifact, creature, or land. For example, if a creature has three +1/+1 counters and a divinity counter on it before the ability resolves, it will have six +1/+1 counters and two divinity counters on it after the ability resolves.

Straight from the gatherer.

Lord is right, I misread. His ability resolves seperately for EACH counter on the card.

FustyDavorite

Oh! I read it wrong too! Well then.

imFourth of Phils

ohh, thanks guys, now i understand :)

Reread his ability again, it specifically states that it will only work on artifacts, creatures, or lands.

Your completely right, I added more bad info to this thread. That's what I do, sorry friends.

It's no problem, it's actually a really common mistake when it comes to him. I guess people just want him to be more awesome than he already is, but planeswalkers are too powerful to have more ways to add extra counters to them. Wizards knows that between the proliferate mechanic, {Doubling Season}, and {Gilder Bairn} that planeswalkers don't need any more cards to make them more broken than they already are. So they nerfed vorel to prevent that. I made that mistake as well at first.

At least vorel ups Gideon's counters while he's a creature...
